A Message from Principal Mary Sepler Nov. 21st, 2019

Dear Lowell Family,

We had a wonderful gratitude assembly this morning as well as a gratitude lunch yesterday.  Please follow this link to see a video of our grateful kids:

Yesterday afternoon our teachers met to discuss the concept of being a “warm demander” in terms of building strong connections with our students and, also, holding high expectations for all students.  Amy Carder, from the district office, facilitated the discussion.  This was part of our monthly student growth meetings in which we consider academic and social growth data for all our students.

The PTA is strongly considering joining the district equity project in which a portion of funds generated by the school’s PTA would join an equity fund for redistribution to areas of need in all elementary schools.  They request your thinking and input on this idea.  Please complete the following survey to help the Lowell PTA Executive Team determine next steps for Lowell’s participation in the “All Hands Raised” Equity Pilot Project for the 2019-2020 school year.  Please complete the survey before December 4 at 5PM. Thank you!

A reminder that next Wednesday, November 27, is an early release day for all schools.  Students at Lowell will be dismissed at 12:45PM and the next two days, November 28 and 29, are non-school days due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

In closing, I’m grateful for my daily opportunity to make a difference in the learning and lives of your children.  Thank you for sharing them with us.
