A Message from Principal Sarah Walker, Sep. 7th 2021

Hello Families,

Welcome to the second week of school.   This week at Lowell, our teachers are developing communities where students can see themselves in the spaces.  This includes goal setting, self portraits and class agreements.  Building a learning community is the heart of our work in the first few weeks of school.  Ask your child about the connections they are forming!  Your child’s teacher will be reaching out ( if they have not already) to learn more about each of our students.

Here are a few upcoming dates to keep in mind:

  • We will have an early release this Thursday 9/9/21 at 12:45 for all students.
  • Our first PTA meeting of the year will be on Tuesday September 14th under the covered area at 7pm!  Bring your camp chair and learn what our PTA has to offer.
  • If you missed out Meet and Greet, here is a virtual tour of Lowell.

Pick up and Drop off Reminders:

  • If you get out of your car to pick up, please meet your child at the covered area. This limits the number of people in one area.
  • If you are driving for pick up, please stay in your car, pull all the way up!  This keeps the line moving.
  • Update go-home plans by 11:30 AM to ensure we are all on the same page.

Daily Symptom Monitoring:

Your child should not come to school if they are experiencing any symptoms associated with COVID-19.  Symptoms include:

  • Fever (100.4° F or higher) or chills
  • Cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Sore throat, nasal congestion, or runny nose
  • Recent loss of taste or smell
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • Nausea, vomiting or diarrhea
  • Unusual fatigue

Thanks for checking for these symptoms each morning.  At times a cold or allergies presents itself with these symptoms.  Please use caution and monitor your child instead of sending them to school.

I want to encourage you to follow our district website Covid information link.  This will provide you with the most current and detailed information.  Thank you for your partnership while we continue to navigate this challenging public health issue
